Bloober Team, the studio behind the acclaimed Silent Hill 2 remake, has confirmed it is working on another mystery project. This new endeavor is separate from Cronos: The New Dawn, a time-traveling survival horror game slated for 2025, announced shortly after the release of Silent Hill 2.

Before its recent success, Bloober Team had a mixed track record, with titles like The Medium, Blair Witch, and Layers of Fear receiving lukewarm reviews. The studio was also responsible for Basement Crawl, one of the lowest-rated PS4 exclusives with a 27% Metacritic score. In a recent interview with MP1ST, Cronos: The New Dawn director Wojciech Piejko revealed that Bloober Team has two independent production teams. One is focused on Cronos, while the other has shifted its attention post-Silent Hill 2 to this unannounced project, currently in the pre-production phase.

Interestingly, Bloober Team has several collaborations with major publishers, which could be connected to this new project:

• Project C (Private Division)
• Project M (Nintendo)
• Project R (Skydance Entertainment)

Project R, a partnership with Skydance Entertainment announced in December 2023, may not be a new IP, as the collaboration involves a licensing and publishing agreement. Meanwhile, Project M, developed with Nintendo, stirred speculation earlier this year when fans thought it was linked to Nintendo’s Emio trailers. These rumors were dispelled when Emio turned out to be unrelated. Finally, Project C, a survival horror game in collaboration with Private Division, is expected to be revealed by the end of 2024 and appears to be distinct from Cronos.

While details remain scarce, Bloober Team’s growing slate of projects suggests the studio is poised for further success in the survival horror genre. Fans will need to be patient, as Piejko indicated that the new project is still years away from a full reveal.
